  • Community Groups have a different intention than Therapeutic Groups and are Peer Support Community Groups.

  • The goal is to build community and share lived experiences with fellow peers. The group facilitator’s role is different from a group therapist . A community group facilitator is present to guide conversation in a meaningful way and add supportive structure.

  • Community groups are virtual and on-going from month to month.

  • Community groups are open and drop-in in nature. If you are new to Take Space, you will first have a consultation with Dani, fill out any paperwork and then you'll be ready to attend when you like and ebb and flow in and out each week/month. There is no long term commitment as we believe community building is on-going and can be helpful at different periods of our Body Liberation journey.

  • If you are brand new to Health at Every Size® or Body Liberation frameworks, this might not be the best fit for you at this time. The group will engage in very little structured education on HAES research or Body Liberation frameworks.

  • If you have begun to explore Health at Every Size® or Body Liberation frameworks, consider yourself very aligned with these frameworks-- or anything in between--Take Space Groups could be a great fit for you.

  • If you are experiencing active eating disorder symptoms/behaviors without treatment or support and/or have never sought treatment for this eating disorder this group would not be the best fit for you at this time.

  • Take Space Community Groups are not a replacement for individual therapy or treatment. If you are interested in group, but need more support, reach out for my eating disorder professional referral list.

Sliding Scale Offerings

Offering sliding scale for community support groups comes from a desire to create multiple access points to build body liberation and fat positive communities.

In researching and meditating on what tools to use to create multiple financial access points that would reflect the multiple economic realities I am utilizing a 3 tier sliding scale model (created by the creative and generous Alexis J. Cunningfolk.)

There are sliding scale 3 tiers (plus a pay it forward option). See the "Green Bottle" Image below to help you figure out your tier of choice.

Tier 1: $75 per community group session

Tier 2: $55 per community group session

Tier 3: $35 per community group session

Pay It Forward Option: $95 per community group session.

Committing to this price supports financial accessibility for those folks lower down on the scale & contributes to my ability to make TAKE SPACE open and accessible to more and more folks.
